Titwood cricket ground in Glasgow could be used for a Pakistan ODI
Scotland could offer to host future one-day cricket internationals involving Pakistan.
Following Tuesday's terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore, Pakistan are looking for neutral venues for future matches.
If the squad are based in England for a Test and one-day series, Glasgow's Titwood ground could be used.
Cricket Scotland chief executive Roddy Smith told BBC Scotland that staging a ODI would raise the game's profile.
Seven Sri Lanka players were injured in Lahore on their team bus, while six policemen escorting it were killed in the attack.
New Zealand, the West Indies, South Africa and India have all cancelled or amended fixtures with Pakistan over the past six years because of security concerns.
Smith told BBC Scotland that hosting a ODI involving the Pakistani team would be a boost for Scottish cricket.
"We will just wait to see if people contact us. If the opportunity ever came along we would of course like to host games using Scotland as a neutral venue," he said.
"It would be a great opportunity to showcase the game here and, if they have to play the games outwith Pakistan, we would be willing to speak to them about it.
"Having any international team in Scotland is a huge boost for the game and raises its profile.
"Over the past five years we've had the Indians, the Pakistan team, the Australians and England. Every time the big teams come to Scotland it gives the game a boost."
Discussions have taken place over England hosting Australia's postponed Test tour of Pakistan next year.
Australia have refused to tour Pakistan since 1998 because of security concerns and want a neutral venue in the wake of the terror attack in Lahore.
