Sidebottom made his Test debut for England in 2001 |
Nottinghamshire seamer Ryan Sidebottom has been awarded a benefit season in 2010 after only six years at the club. The left-arm paceman, who left Yorkshire in 2004, was a key member of Nottinghamshire's County Championship- winning side a year later. Sidebottom, 31, who has played 21 Tests for England, said: "Being awarded a benefit year is a huge privilege. "I've always felt at home at Trent Bridge, I'm looking forward to forming a committee and putting on events." Nottinghamshire chairman Peter Wright said: "Ryan continues to demonstrate that he is a genuine force in world cricket and we are delighted that he is able to combine his international cricket with such a strong commitment to Notts. "He is an extremely talented player, a great ambassador for cricket and thoroughly deserving of a benefit season." Sidebottom has taken 77 wickets at an average of 27.70 in 21 Tests for England.
