Nottinghamshire's hopes of winning two titles this season could be damaged, as they may be without five players who have been called up by England.

Stuart Broad, Ryan Sidebottom, Graeme Swann, Darren Pattinson and Samit Patel have all been named in national squads.

It leaves the Championship and Pro40 leaders without key personnel.

Director of cricket Mick Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We've got some serious issues to deal with over the last few weeks of the season."

Newell added: "Rob Ferley, Will Jefferson and even Alex Hales will come into contention.

"Lots of players will be hoping to show they can be in the team on a regular basis."
