Newell's side suffered Twenty20 Cup controversy this season |
Nottinghamshire are not keen on the proposals for a new Twenty20 franchise system, according to director of cricket Mick Newell. One idea is for the nine Test and ODI grounds to host an English Premier League separate from the county game. Newell said: "Twenty20 is being seen as the golden egg, but there's a danger of us overcooking it. "I'm not in favour of nine franchises, and even as a Test ground it's not something we are massively keen on."
