Champions Nottinghamshire have awarded new contracts to two players. Opening batsman Darren Bicknell, 38, has been given a one-year extension after ending 2005 with a total of 1,131 runs in the County Championship.
Young left-arm seamer Mark Footitt has earned a new two-year contract after taking five wickets on debut against Glamorgan and gaining an Academy call.
Mike Newell, Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket, said: "Mark has developed into a handful with his pace."
He added: "We want to see that progress continue. He offers us something different to our other left-armers Ryan Sidebottom and Greg Smith.
"With their experience we feel Mark can make further steps forward in the future."
Newell also enthused about retaining Bicknell's services.
He said: "He's had a great year for us and consistently provided a platform to build on at the top of the order in partnership with Jason Gallian."
