Sidebottom has spearheaded the Notts attack well this summer |
Notts seam bowler Ryan Sidebottom will be out of action for three weeks after suffering a side injury. The left-armer pulled up during his fifth over in last week's Championship game against Sussex.
"Ryan has been in terrific form for us all season and it's very disappointing to see him injured," said the club's Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
Sidebottom, who has taken 30 firs-class wickets this summer, will miss the group stage of the Twenty 20 Cup.
"He would have had a big role to play in the Twenty20.
"The only consolation is that we have a wide choice of replacements for him in this competition than in the Championship," Newell told the club's website.
Sidebottom joined Notts last year after seven seasons on the Yorkshire staff.
He is still hoping to add to his one England Test cap, won against Pakistan at Lord's four years ago.
