David Sales recently agreed a four-year contract extension |
Northants have said that batsman David Sales' knee injury is not as bad as first feared. The 30-year-old, who missed the entire 2001 season after damaging his knee during an England A tour in the West Indies, hurt himself in training. "It's certainly not as serious as we thought at first," chief executive Mark Tagg told BBC Radio Northampton. "It was just one of those things. We are not overly concerned about it at this stage." Sales, who captained the county between 2004 and 2007, scored more than 1,800 runs in all competitions last season.
