Northants have boosted their seam attack for the 2009 county season by signing Lee Daggett and Ryan Cummins.

Former Durham University student Daggett, 26, will join the club from Warwickshire on a two-year contract.

Meanwhile, 24-year-old Cummins, who formerly played for Leicestershire, has agreed a one-year deal.

"They will add strength and variety to our seam bowling options in all formats of the game," head coach David Capel told the Northants website.

"Both players have a good work ethic, have demonstrated that they have the ability to take wickets at first-class level and are keen to move their careers forward with us."

Daggett has taken 53 first-class wickets at a cost of 36 runs each, but was unable to secure a regular first-team place with Warwickshire and had a spell on loan at Leicestershire during the summer.

Cummins, who stands 6ft 4ins tall, has 49 first-class wickets at an average of 44.5 but only made two Championship appearances last season.
