Andrew Strauss has played down the significance of Australia's Phillip Hughes playing alongside him at Middlesex in the run-up to the Ashes.
They have been criticised for giving an Australian a chance to adapt to English conditions but Strauss said it was not a big deal.
"He's not played here before and so he'll take something from that, there's no doubt," said the England captain.
"But also we can look at him and maybe find some weaknesses to exploit."
Hughes, 20, only broke into Australia's Test team this year, but in the second Test of the recent series against South Africa, he became the youngest player in Test history to score two centuries in the same match.
"Middlesex signed him before he was member of the Australia side so it was with the best intentions," said Strauss.
"Moving forward, it's not a huge concern of mine - there are lots of things to worry about in the coming weeks, the fact he's playing here's not one of them
"There's no point losing sleep, it won't win or lose us the Ashes."
