Middlesex have lost all three of their Stanford Series matches |
Middlesex captain Shaun Udal says his side were "blown away" by the Stanford Superstars in Antigua on Thursday. The English Twenty20 Cup champions lost by 58 runs to Sir Allen Stanford's invitational team. Udal told BBC London 94.9: "We got beaten by a far better side, a far bigger hitting side who've been together for six weeks in training." "We were disappointing but we got blown away by some really strong batting. I've never seen hitting like it." The Stanford Superstars now face England in a match worth $20 million on Saturday. And Udal is convinced that the Superstars will step-up their efforts for the game. "I'm sure there will be a lot more bouncers and head-high deliveries bowled on Saturday. "They've got the firepower to do that. "We didn't have that tonight so we didn't have that option. There's a serious game of cricket on Saturday." Reflecting on the trip as a whole Udal said: "We've had opportunities to win two of the games that we've been in. "It's up to us to identify what went wrong at that stage, for the players to develop and to improve. "We have to make that 5 to 10% difference very quickly."
