Horton is looking forward to playing in Liverpool |
Lancashire opener Paul Horton is predicting a great atmosphere when the county make their Twenty20 bow in Liverpool on 22 June. The Lightning face Leicestershire Foxes at Aigburth in the county's first ever Twenty20 game away from Old Trafford. Horton told BBC Radio Merseyside: "Last year we got a really hostile crowd, which was fantastic. "They almost take their football supporting nature to the cricket and that's brilliant to have as a player." Horton, who was brought up in Liverpool after emigrating from Australia, believes Lancashire have an opportunity to expand their fanbase when they play on Merseyside in June. "If we get a crowd of people who have never watched cricket at a Twenty20 game, in future they may think 'there's cricket on again at Aigburth - let's go to a four-day game or a one-day game.'"
