Lancashire have signed 23-year-old former Middlesex academy batsman Adrian Shankar on a two-year deal.

Shankar was captain of his county's under-19 team and had a short spell with Lancashire earlier this year.

"Adrian is a quality young batsman who fills a gap in our player development programme," said Lancashire cricket manager Mike Watkinson.

"He has attracted interest from a number of other counties, which confirms his potential."
