Lancashire captain Stuart Law admits he is relishing the challenge of guiding the county during the forthcoming County Championship campaign.

The 39-year-old Australian-born player, now a British citizen, succeeded Mark Chilton, who stood down at the end of the last campaign.

Law told BBC Radio Lancashire: "It's different to what I'm used to.

"In Australia you just play cricket whereas here I'm also involved in selecting the team."

I just need to get the best out of these guys

Lancashire are currently in the Middle East to play a mini-tournament against the United Arab Emirates, Yorkshire, Essex and Sussex which begins on Friday.

Law is confident the county can win some silverware this season and has set his sights on their first outright County Championship title since 1934.

"I just need to get the best out of these guys and to make sure we're playing the best cricket we can every day of the season.

"We're planning on having a great summer, being highly successful in what we do and, fingers crossed, it'll all be good."
