Law has been a prolific scorer throughout his career |
Stuart Law broke his own record for the fastest domestic one-day century in Australia for Queensland on Tuesday. Law, who plays for Lancashire in county cricket, smacked 14 boundaries in his 69-ball onslaught against Tasmania.
The 35-year-old had jointly held the record at 74 balls with WA's Justin Langer and NSW's Brad Haddin.
Law eventually finished on 113 off 85 balls as the Queensland Bulls won the ING Cup fixture at Bellerive Oval by six wickets.
Old Trafford regulars are well aware of Law's capabilities with the willow.
He has been a star since transferring from Essex in 2002 and was the championship's leading run-scorer last season with 1,820 runs.
Along with former West Indies captain carl Hooper, he will again play as an overseas player this season but hopes to qualify as a British resident by 2005.
Despite having scored over 21,000 first-class runs at an average of 50, Law has played just one Test match for Australia, against Sri Lanka eight years ago.
