Kent batsman Martin van Jaarsveld admits he is concerned by his side's losing streak, after their third defeat in as many games.

Kent have lost their last two games in the CB40, against Derbyshire and the Netherlands and were also beaten in the County Championship by Gloucestershire.

Van Jaarsveld told BBC Radio Kent: "It is pretty disappointing at the moment.

"We are playing some good cricket but can't get over the line. Hopefully this week the boys can get away and recoup."

Kent now have six days off before their next game away at Worcestershire in the CB40 on Sunday.

It's been really really hard for the boys and we're struggling injury-wise

Van Jaarsveld believes they have to bounce back at New Road in order to lift the mood in the squad, ahead of their FL t20 quarter-final away at Leicestershire on 6 August.

He said: "We've got a massive game coming up against Leicestershire, but the boys have got a week off now, so hopefully we can get away and recoup mentally.

"If they need to work on technique then there's a bit of time set to do that and hopefully play better against Worcester on Sunday."

He added: "The T20 competition was so tough, you do a lot of travelling and play a lot of cricket.

"Then there are quite a few Championship games thrown in the middle of that.

"It's been really really hard for the boys and we're struggling injury-wise a bit, but hopefully this week the boys can get away and recharge."

Opener Joe Denly is Kent's latest injury concern after he missed Sunday's game at Derbyshire because of a wrist problem, he is due to see a specialist this week.
