Kent have announced Alister Dunning will be their president for 2010. The 69-year-old, who has served as honorary treasurer at Canterbury since 1998, takes over from Carl Openshaw. He said: "I have been a supporter of Kent County Cricket Club since I was first brought to the St Lawrence Ground as a child by my father. "I am thrilled and honoured by my appointment. I look forward very much to continuing to support the club during my year in office." Meanwhile former Kent player Hugh Dinwiddy has died aged 97. Until his death he was the county's oldest surviving former player. He was also the only remaining cricketer to have played against both Don Bradman and Jack Hobbs. Dinwiddy played 10 first class games for Kent in 1933 and 1934.
