Kent delighted by Ford decision

Graham Ford
Ford has English county and international experience

Kent chief executive Paul Millman believes the county will have a stable season after coach Graham Ford pulled out of the running for the England job.

The South African was a leading candidate to replace Peter Moores, but withdrew after becoming frustrated by the delay in making an appointment.

Millman told BBC Radio Kent: "I know everybody here is thrilled about it.

"We can look forward to a season where we've got lots to achieve and we have a squad all geared to success."

Millman added: "It's an important role for English cricket and wearing my English cricket hat, it's important we get the right person in the job, particularly in light of the current form in the West Indies.

"So there's a lot to put right at the top of English cricket and I know the authorities are very keen to ensure the process is a rigorous one and that we get the right person in the job."
