Tredwell is currently in pre-season training at Kent |
Kent's James Tredwell feels being selected for the MCC squad is a great chance to boost his England chances. The spinner toured New Zealand with the England one-day squad this winter but did not play in any internationals. Tredwell, 26, is one of a number of players hoping to impress the England selectors in the MCC team who will take on county champions Sussex at Lords. "There's a few of us who'd like to make a point and it's a perfect way to start the season," he told BBC Radio Kent. Tredwell says being on tour in the winter was slightly frustrating at times, but his role was made clear to him. Tredwell said: "I just attacked it with trying to get the most out of the tour for me personally, hopefully I've improved for the experience, Peter Moores has now seen me, so hopefully I've done a lot to push my case for future series." Middlesex's Ed Joyce will captain the MCC side.
