McLaren has made a positive impression since joining Kent |
All-rounder Ryan McLaren has committed his future to Kent by signing a three-year extension to his contract. He had attracted interest from Warwickshire, as they look to strengthen their squad for next summer, but has decided to stay at Canterbury.
"This is great news for the club," said director of cricket Graeme Ford.
"Ryan has the undoubted ability to be a major force in Kent cricket over the next three summers, and hopefully beyond that."
McLaren, who is registered as a non-overseas player under the terms of the Kolpak ruling, helped Kent win the Twenty20 Cup earlier this month, taking 3-22 in the final against Gloucestershire at Edgbaston.
He is also the club's leading wicket-taker in the Championship, with 38 victims so far at a cost of only 22.5 runs each, and was recently awarded his county cap.
