Ireland defeat Kenya at Clontarf

Porterfield is the current captain of the Ireland national team

Ireland beat Kenya by 52 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis method after rain ended proceedings prematurely in their second one-day international at Clontarf.

Kenya batted first and were 175 all out off 45.1 overs, with Alex Obanda scoring 59 and Nehemiah Odhiambo 40.

Boyd Rankin took 3-40, Regan West 2-36, Kyle McCallan 2-30 and Trent Johnston and Kevin O'Brien a wicket apiece.

Ireland made 104 for 1 off 21 overs in reply, Gary Wilson ending on 51 not out and William Porterfield out for 49.

Alex Cusack was the other not-out batsman on one.

Steve Tikolo was the only wicket-taker for Kenya, as he bowled opening batsman Porterfield with Ireland's score on 102.

Ireland beat Kenya by three wickets in the first match between the sides on Thursday and the teams meet again at Clontarf on Sunday.
