Hampshire's Michael Lumb agrees IPL deal

Michael Lumb
Lumb hit one century and three 50s in last summer's Twenty20 Cup

Hampshire batsman Michael Lumb has agreed a deal with Rajasthan Royals for the forthcoming Indian Premier League.

As a non-international player, the 29-year-old was able to join the Royals, who are captained and coached by Shane Warne, after Tuesday's live auction.

Lumb, who played with former Hampshire captain Warne at the Rose Bowl, has reportedly agreed a deal worth £30,000.

Middlesex's Ireland-born batsman Eoin Morgan was the only England-qualified player to be bought at the auction.

Johannesburg-born Lumb enjoyed an excellent Twenty20 Cup campaign for Hampshire last summer, hitting 442 runs which included a personal best 124 not out.
