Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove says the England and Wales Cricket Board needs to "take a look at itself" after the departures of captain and coach.

Hampshire's Kevin Pietersen resigned as England captain, while coach Peter Moores was sacked on the same day.

Bransgrove told BBC Radio Solent: "[The ECB] have to ask why we have had this debacle in the English team.

"They also have to ask why we are no longer at the top table of world cricket," he added.

Bransgrove stressed that Pietersen's resignation from the England captaincy would not affect his position at Hampshire.
