Fletcher resigned as England coach after the 2007 World Cup |
Former Hampshire captain Shane Warne has said he is puzzled by the possible appointment of Duncan Fletcher as a consultant at the Rose Bowl. Hampshire have confirmed that they are in talks with the former England coach about a possible role alongside new first-team manager Giles White. Warne told BBC Radio Solent: "If Duncan has got the dedication, he could bring a lot to the table at Hampshire. "But if he's just looking for something to do, it would be a backward step." Warne added: "I'm not quite sure what Duncan is offering Hampshire, but it would be valuable if he's interested. "His motivation has to be there though, and if he's got that, then Hampshire would benefit."
