Hants chairman has Terry regret

Hampshire

Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove has spoken for the first time about the departure of team manager Paul Terry.

Bransgrove has admitted handing Terry the role as manager may have played a part in the former opener's decision.

"It's a bit unfortunate really, everyone knows that Paul is a very close friend of mine," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"I think some of the things I asked him to do as a manager rather than a coach conspired to make him unhappy."

He added: "The burden of not winning games, being away from home for the sixth consecutive summer also made him feel it was time to make a move."
