Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove has backed the England and Wales Cricket Board boss Giles Clarke to deliver an Indian Premier League-style tournament. He has also revealed his disappointment that India beat England to implementing a franchise-style Twenty20 tournament. "I think that the current chairman of the ECB is capable of having the vision to take the game forward in this country," he told BBC Radio Solent. "We should have a tournament which is at least the equal of the IPL." "We're the only country that play domestic cricket at this time of year - we'd have the world market to ourselves." Speaking at the BBC Radio Solent cricket forum, he added: "If I've got any disappointment about the whole process it's that the Indians got in there before we did. "I can see the Rose Bowl hosting bigger and better Twenty20 cricket in the future."
