Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove says they are considering changing their team name in Twenty20 cricket. The county currently play as Hampshire Hawks in all forms of one-day cricket.
Bransgrove told BBC Radio Solent: "I would not like to drop all the tradition of English cricket in the more conventional forms of the game.
"But I see Twenty20 as a sort of franchise so I wouldn't rule anything out. It has brought a new audience so we treat it slightly differently."
Yorkshire have already announced they will be known as Yorkshire Carnegie in one-day cricket this season.
Their name change from Yorkshire Phoenix follows a "significant investment" from Leeds Metropolitan University.
