Hampshire have announced plans to return to play first-class matches at Basingstoke in the 2008 season. The last first XI match played at the May's Bounty ground was in 2000, the season before the club's move to the impressive Rose Bowl complex.
Subject to improvements in the playing area, confirmation of a return to Basingstoke is expected this year.
"The tremendous support we have always received from the local community bodes well for the future," a spokesman said.
