Hampshire have completed the signing of Zimbabwe all-rounder Sean Ervine on a two-year contract. The 21-year-old quit international cricket earlier this year after he and 14 fellow 'rebels' fell out with the Zimbabwe Cricket Union.
He moved to Australia to rebuild his career but plans to spend his summers in England.
"This is challenge I relish. I want to develop my career with Hampshire," he told the club's official website.
Ervine will be registered as a non-overseas player under the provisions of the Kolpak ruling.
Fellow 'rebels' Heath Streak (Warwickshire), Grant Flower (Essex) and Ray Price (Worcestershire) will also be playing county cricket next summer.
Ervine is Hampshire's second signing of the week following the arrival of seamer Richard Logan.
And they are still hoping to add Logan's former Notts team-mate Kevin Pietersen, who has rejected a new contract.
