Gloucestershire have signed 21-year-old wicketkeeper Louis Gegg on an emerging player contract. Gegg, from Bisley, was with the county's academy between the ages of 15 and 17 and plays for Frocester in the West of England Premier League. Former Gloucestershire and England wicketkeeper Jack Russell, now an executive board member with the county, says this is Gegg's big chance. "This is an opportunity for him to move his game to another level," he said. "We have set Louis some very tough tasks over the last year. He has come through extremely well." Gegg, who has been part of the county's age group teams since he was 11, added: "I am relishing the opportunity to further my cricket and it is a great chance to play for Gloucestershire. "I have worked incredibly hard for a number of years to reach my first goal of signing for the county."
