Brown signed for Gloucestershire in 2006 after impressing in the second XI

Gloucestershire all-rounder David Brown is to leave the club by mutual consent, a year before his contract expires.

The 26-year-old moved to Nevil Road in 2006 but did not play a first-class game in 2009.

"I plan to continue my career and look forward to playing against my former colleagues soon," said Brown.

"I have really enjoyed my years at Gloucestershire and would like to thank the players and members for all their support over the whole period."

Director of cricket John Bracewell added: "David has had few opportunities and we agreed it would be in everyone's best interests if he moved on."
