Gloucestershire batsman Craig Spearman has admitted that his days in first-class cricket may be numbered.

The former New Zealand opener, who turns 36 this summer, is the club's beneficiary this year.

But injuries are beginning to catch up with the veteran player who joined Gloucestershire in 2002.

"I'm not sure if my body may be telling me it's time to slow down. It's the wear and tear of 15 years at the top level," he said.

"I've had a few injury problems this year, with a knee operation in pre-season and then steroid injections in my back a couple of weeks ago."
