Gul has played 11 Tests and 20 ODIs for Pakistan |
Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul will make his county debut next season, playing for Gloucestershire. The 24-year-old has signed a one-year contract and will join at the start of the season, or if he is selected, from the end of the World Cup.
He said: "I am very excited about joining a county steeped in such great history as Gloucestershire's.
"I believe that with a lot of hard work we will be able to achieve many good things in the coming season."
Gul was Pakistan's most successful bowler in the summer Test series in England, taking 18 wickets in the four games, and is currently playing in the ICC Champions Trophy in India.
"Umar is a quality fast bowler who will bring a real cutting edge to our attack.
"I watched him from close quarters during the summer and have been thoroughly impressed by his professionalism and appetite for the game," Gloucestershire captain Jon Lewis commented.
