Captain Jon Lewis has signed a new contract and been offered a benefit season in 2007 by Gloucestershire.

In Lewis's first year as skipper, his 12th at the club, the Gladiators won the NatWest Pro40 Division Two title.

Seamer Lewis, 31, made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in June and is part of England's Champions Trophy squad.

"I have always felt really proud to be a Gloucestershire player and am looking forward to leading the team to more success," said Lewis.

"I wish to thank everyone for their continued support and am already looking forward to next season."
