Greenidge has had a stop-start career in first-class cricket |
Gloucestershire have signed fast bowler Carl Greenidge on a two-year contract after the player was released by Northamptonshire in September. Greenidge, the son of former West Indies opening bat Gordon, said: "I am very happy to be joining such a prestigious club as Gloucestershire.
"I am really looking forward to moving down to Bristol and getting started."
Head coach Mark Alleyne said: "Carl's bowling skill and athleticism will compliment the rest of the team well."
Greenidge, 26, played just three Championship games for Northamptonshire in 2004. He has taken 97 first-class wickets in 32 matches.
He is one of two new seamers to move to Bristol in the close season, with Steve Kirby joining the club from Yorkshire.
Batsman Kadeer Ali, meanwhile, has been signed from local rivals Worcestershire.
