The 25-year-old has been offered a second chance to make the grade in first-class cricket after being released by new county champions Yorkshire. Fisher was an infrequent member of the Yorkshire side, taking 43 wickets since his debut in 1996. He played only one Championship match during the 2001 season following the emergence of Richard Dawson, who has been chosen for England's winter tour to India. "I'm excited having another bowling option and Ian will definitely strengthen the team," said Gloucestershire skipper Mark Alleyne. After winning five one-day trophies in the previous two years, Gloucestershire had a disappointing season, losing to Surrey in the B&H Cup final and suffering relegation in the Norwich Union League. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Other top Gloucestershire stories: Links to more Gloucestershire stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
