Glamorgan's LV County Championship Division Two promotion hopes have been dealt a blow as captain Jamie Dalrymple will miss their next two games.

The 29-year-old broke a thumb on the opening day of the game with Middlesex at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff.

Dalrymple was hurt when he was struck by Middlesex bowler Pedro Collins as the Glamorgan batsman was dismissed for 37 after being caught by Neil Dexter.

He will miss the rest of this match and the leaders' trip to Worcestershire.

"He's been for an x-ray, the specialist will give us a full report with more details of how long he thinks Jamie will be out for," Glamorgan director of cricket Matthew Maynard told BBC Sport Wales.

"It's not displaced so that's good news, we'll see how much it settles down in the next week or two.

"If required I'm sure he will bat in the second innings, but he will be struggling to bat at three.

"Jamie has led the side fantastically well this season and has been in great form.

"He will definitely miss the next three one-day matches for us, then we'll see how the injury has settled down."
