Glamorgan one-day display 'embarrassing' - Steve James
James has called for the one-day recall of Robert Croft and Mike Powell
Ex-captain Steve James says Glamorgan must reassess their one-day selection after the 58-run loss to Unicorns.
"Glamorgan embarrassed themselves losing to a semi-professional side in Bournemouth," he told BBC Sport Wales.
"It doesn't make any sense to me when they've got two quality players like Robert Croft and Mike Powell sitting at home," added the former England opener.
With James Harris away on England Lions duty, James says bowlers David Harrison and Huw Waters should be brought in.
The Welsh county are straight back into County Championship action on Monday, Gloucestershire the visitors to Cardiff in a tournament where Glamorgan have excelled this year.
Their next Clydesdale Bank 40 one-day fixture is against Surrey at the Swalec Stadium on Friday.
Director of cricket Matthew Maynard acknowledges that their hopes in the 40-over competition are all but over, yet he has suggested that he will resist the temptation to make changes.
"Apart from Mark Cosgrove I'm just very, very disappointed [with our batting against the Unicorns], we didn't get the partnerships together when we were chasing," he told BBC Sport Wales.
"We should have chased that down, there was a lot of complacency and a lot of bad shots.
"Maybe the guys got carried away after some good batting performances and didn't do the basics.
"I don't think that there was complacency in facing an amateur team, we were fairly sharp in the field - the complacency came in the batting.
"I would have thought that we are out of this competition after one point from four games.
"We're learning as a side, we've got a young team and we have to up our performances.
"We want a good show at home to Surrey on Friday.
"It was the first bad collective batting performance of the summer so they will get another opportunity."
