Glamorgan County Cricket Club have announced an increased operating profit of almost £1m for the last financial year. That is an almost three-fold increase on the £370,000 they made for the previous year. The club is also understood to have doubled its turnover from last year to almost £6.8m. That comes as a boost for the club ahead of the first npower Test between England and Australia on 8 July. For that match, at the new 15,000-seat Swalec Stadium, Glamorgan have announced the first four days are now sold out after the remaining 7,000 tickets were snapped up in a matter of hours. Tickets for the fifth day of the Test will go on sale on Tuesday, 10 March. Club president David East said: "Glamorgan Cricket has proved that it is a successful business off the field. "We look forward to an exciting season on the field following the record investments that we have made in the team this year." Meanwhile, Glamorgan have confirmed that Steve Watkin has been made the county's bowling coach, while Adrian Shaw is to be the second-team coach.
