Harris extends Glamorgan contract
James Harris
Harris has been tipped for a bright future by Glamorgan
Glamorgan's teen sensation James Harris has signed a four-year extension to his contract which will keep him at the county until 2011.

Harris, 17, became the youngest player to take 10 or more wickets in a County Championship match last May with 12 against Gloucestershire.

A month later, he became Glamorgan's youngest scorer of a half century with an unbeaten 87 against Nottinghamshire.

"He has enormous talent and potential," said cricket manager Matthew Maynard.

"I look forward to working closely with James in the course of the next few years as we look to improve the fortunes of Glamorgan Cricket."

Harris said: "Ever since a young age, playing league cricket with Pontarddulais and for junior Welsh teams, it was my ambition to play for Glamorgan.

"I achieved that last summer, and once my college studies are over, my goals will be to secure a regular place in the county's team, and to help them achieve further success."
