Hemp rejoined Glamorgan in 2002 |
Glamorgan have confirmed captain David Hemp will continue his role this year. The left-handed batsman, 37, was handed the captaincy for the 2007 campaign but the Glamorgan won just one County Championship match and no Pro40 games.
But an upbeat Hemp, who played in the 2007 World Cup for Bermuda, said: "I'm pleased that I've got the job again and I'm looking forward to it immensely.
"If you look at the side now, we have signed a couple of experienced players that will bolster the senior side."
He added: "You can't underestimate the honour you get from captaining the side, especially a county.
"With the benefit, there will also be times when I feel pretty tired but hopefully that will be organised in a way that won't impact too much on my cricket.
"Last year there were some trying times but you've got to try and stick with the challenge and make the most of them.
"I still get a thrill and a buzz from playing. I wake up in the morning and look forward to the long days on the field."
