Elliott says he is over his knee problems |
Australian batsman Matthew Elliott says he would like to return to Glamorgan next season and would eventually like a coaching job at Sophia Gardens. The 34-year-old is over the knee problems that cut short his 2005 season and stopped his return this year.
Another South Australian Mark Cosgrove replaced Elliott in Wales this season.
"(Glamorgan chief executive) Mike Fatkin said they will talk to me before signing any overseas players for next year," Elliott told the Evening Post.
"I can't really ask for any more than that and it was good for me to have the opportunity to say where I stand with regard to going to back to Glamorgan.
"I want to keep playing for a few years yet and it would be nice to return to Sophia Gardens and help the development of the club's younger players.
"When I am qualified, and after retiring, I would be very interested in joining Glamorgan's coaching staff as a batting coach."
