Elliott fitness boosts Glamorgan
Glamorgan have dropped Ian Thomas from the side knocked out of the C&G Trophy by Hampshire for Friday's Championship match against the same opponents.

The opener makes way for the return of fit again Australian Matthew Elliott.

Dan Cherry and Jonathan Hughes retain their places in the batting line-up, while England paceman Simon Jones is also back to try and prove his fitness.

The first Test against Bangladesh is next week and Jones needs a good show at the Rose Bowl to boost his claims.

Jones has been suffering from a side strain that has ruled him out of much of Glamorgan's poor start to the season.

The Welsh County has lost all four Division One Championship games so far this season, with their solitary win coming against minor county Suffolk in the C&G first round.
