| Essex have announced a pre-tax profit of �94,986 for the financial year ending 31 December 2006, a significant rise on the �26,129 surplus for 2005. Club Treasurer Keith Brown said: "Our success on the field was the principal reason for our positive result. "Membership, marketing and match income all benefited. Winning the Totesport League in 2005 encouraged greater interest from all our supporters. "This was cemented by the 2006 NatWest Pro40 and our Twenty20 performance."
