South Africa-born Ten Doeschate is an improving cricketer |
Dutch all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate has committed himself to Essex for a further two seasons. The 26-year-old was a member of the side which won the NatWest Pro40 title this summer and also played in eight Championship matches.
A highlight was his maiden century for Essex, 102 against Glamorgan.
"I would have liked to have played a bit more but, without being greedy, this was still a good year to follow my breakthrough season," he said.
As well as playing for Essex, ten Doeschate is a regular in the Dutch national side and is set to play for them at the World Cup in the West Indies next year.
They are in the same first round group as holders Australia, South Africa and Scotland.
