Will Jefferson was trying to open a bathroom window at the time |
Essex opener Will Jefferson is almost certain to miss the start of the season after sustaining a freak wrist injury. Jefferson is out of the county's pre-season tour to South Africa after severing 70% of a tendon when he put his hand through his bathroom window.
"I probably won't be fit for the first Championship game of the season," said Jefferson who opens the batting with new England hero Alastair Cook.
Essex's first match is on 19 April at home to Monty Panesar's Northants.
