Onions positive on England future
Graham Onions
Graham Onions was overlooked for the second test against West Indies
Durham paceman Graham Onions still hopes to play for England this summer despite being overlooked for the second Test against West Indies.

He has his sights set on winning a place in the side for the fourth Test at the Riverside in mid-June.

"I want to represent my country, and be there with the other Durham lads," Onions told BBC Look North.

"It's a dream come true to play for your country, especially at your home ground. Hopefully the call will come."

Onions, who took eight wickets at Warwickshire last week, won a one-day cap against Pakistan last year.

And he was widely tipped to make the squad for this week's Test at Headingley after Matthew Hoggard was ruled out with a thigh injury.

Instead, the nod went to Notts left-armer Ryan Sidebottom, but at only 24 years old, time is still on Onions's side.

"I'm keeping my feet on the ground," Onions continued. "I've just got to make sure I keep taking wickets for Durham."

Durham team-mates Paul Collingwood, Liam Plunkett and Steve Harmison all keep their places in the squad to play West Indies on Friday.
