Khawaja is one of Australia's rising stars |
Derbyshire are in negotiations to bring in an overseas player for the second half of the 2011 season. Australia batsman Usman Khawaja, 24, has joined for the first half but is not available for the entire campaign. Head of cricket John Morris told BBC Radio Derby not having one player throughout the season is frustrating. "It's just the way it is but there is a lot to compete with these days with international commitments and the Indian Premier League," Morris said. Left-hander Khawaja will be available for eight County Championship matches and six Clydesdale Bank 40 fixtures - as well as the 16-match t20 campaign.
