Derbyshire have signed ex-Australia international all-rounder Ian Harvey for the 2007 season. Harvey qualifies as a British national as he has played in England since 1999 for Gloucestershire and Yorkshire.
The powerful batsman was the first man to score a century in Twenty20 cricket and also helped Gloucestershire win six one-day trophies between 1999 and 2003.
He helped Australia win the 2003 World Cup and played for his country in 73 one-day internationals in all.
In 2004 he was one of Wisden's five cricketers of the year and has a career bowling average of 27.36 and batting average of 33.69 in the first-class arena.
