Somerset have signed South African paceman Charl Langeveldt for the rest of the 2005 season, with a view to a longer-term contract thereafter. The 30-year-old replaces Sanath Jayasuriya, who has returned to Sri Lanka for a series against West Indies.
Langeveldt will arrive at the County Ground as soon as the club receive confirmation from the United Cricket Board of South Africa.
Langeveldt has played four Tests and 16 one-day matches for South Africa.
