New contracts for Derbyshire trio
Batsman Steve Stubbings, spinner Andy Gray and seamer Tom Lungley have agreed new one-year deals with Derbyshire.

"Each of these players has shown they have the ability to help Derbyshire progress next season," said Director of Cricket Dave Houghton.

"All three need to really work hard to ensure they reach the levels of performance and consistency that we need to produce."

Derbyshire are still hunting a new captain for the 2006 season.

Luke Sutton has left the club to join Lancashire and Australia Test opener Justin Langer recently turned down the chance to skipper the team after being targeted by chief executive, Tom Sears.

The club have managed to strengthen the squad, however, by signing former Warwickshire all-rounder Graeme Wagg and seamer Steffan Jones from Northants.
